Third suspect linked to Majdal Shams espionage investigation arrested

Israeli security officials announced the arrest of a third person Tuesday, a resident of Baka al-Gharbiya, on suspicion of espionage and contact with enemy agents. Earlier this month a father and son from the Druze village Majdal Shams were also detained.

 
A resident of Baka al-Gharbiya was arrested on suspicion of espionage and contact with enemy agents linked to arrests made earlier in the month of two Israeli Druze from Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights.
 
A media ban has been placed on details concerning the investigation, allowing very little information concerning the arrests to be published.
 
The arrests were conducted by Israel Security Agency operatives and Israel Police from the international crimes unit.
 
The suspect arrested Tuesday was remanded in the Petah Tikva Magistrates court.
 
Earlier this month, Fada Shaar a musician was arrested on his return from France. Prior to his arrest, police searched the family home in Majdal Shams provoking a riot. Two days after, his arrest his father was also detained.
